Transcription and Prices

As we know, businesses are initially judged by their clients and customers on the legibility, neatness and clear understanding of what is provided to them, whether it be in the form of a letter, quotation, report etc.  Therefore, providing documentation that is carefully and accurately produced reflects your business in the way you want to portray it.

I provide an accurate transcription service for letters, reports, schedules etc., together with copy typing of text or handwritten notes, all of which can be produced in either MS Word or Excel.

Different types of transcription

Transcription can be produced in MS Word or Excel, using any of these formats:

  • Edited - removes all unnecessary filler words/sounds, resulting in cleaner and clearer text.  This is the most commonly requested format by most of my clients and may be used for general, professional transcription in letters, reports, etc.  For example: Bob doesn't want to visit David as he feels he lives too far away.

  • Intelligent Verbatim - word for word but removing unnecessary filler words/sounds and making a cleaner and more understandable text without losing context which may be used for interviews etc.  For example: "But I don't wanna go and see David 'cos he lives too far away"

  • Verbatim - word for word and including filler words/sounds captured on the audio track (i.e. umm, err, coughing, pauses, doors opening etc.) when everything needs to be recorded and sets the tone of the discussion.  This format may be used for legal interviews, statements etc.  For example: "Erm, but I don't wanna go and see...(crying)...David...(sniff)...'cos he lives too far away (door slams)."

More than one speaker?

I also offer transcription of two or more speakers, i.e. for research groups, interviews etc.   If required, these can be time-stamped for ease of finding specific points in conversation.

For example:  CW: I don't wanna go and see David 'cos he lives too far away. [00:03:14]     

PRICES

Transcription

£23 per hour (for Word) *

£24 per hour (for Excel) *

Interviews: £25 per hour for two speakers.    Add £0.10 per audio minute for each additional speaker.

*Time taken in transcribing audio files will be tracked using a professional time-tracker and invoiced accordingly.    If you would like an estimate before forwarding dictation, please just ask.  

Time-stamping can be included in the prices above if required.

The prices above are based on a 24-48 hour turnaround.   Please advise if your requirement is more urgent.

Any inaudible dictation will be marked for client to amend when returned (i.e. marked XXXX if inaudible, or highlighted in a different colour if needing to be checked).
